Well Child Visits

The Secret To A Healthy Child Is Prevention.

As parents, we want to protect our children from everything. One way to protect your child from illness is through preventative care. We advocate for well-child visits and immunizations starting from infancy throughout adolescence. At Edmond Pediatrics, we follow the immunization guidelines as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

What To Expect

Immunizations

Before The Appointment

At Edmond Pediatrics, we follow the immunization guidelines as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We encourage you to inform yourself about vaccines. If your child is not feeling well on the day of your appointment, it may be best to reschedule in the near future to stay consistent with your child’s immunization schedule.

During The Appointment

Your pediatrician will discuss the benefits and risks of the vaccines, answer any questions you may have, and administer the vaccination. Typically, your child will be monitored for a short period as a precaution for allergic reactions to the vaccine. You will also be instructed of the aftercare if any.

After The Appointment

It is important to keep a close eye on your child after the immunization to watch for allergic reactions and side effects such as swelling, aches, pains, etc. Ensure that your child remains hydrated and contact your pediatrician immediately if side effects occur. For emergencies, immediately seek emergency medical attention.
